Chad Jutz
Chad Edward Jutz, 40, Detroit Lakes, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May 18 at the Frazee High School with Father Xavier Ilango celebrating.
Northern Lights Dance Academy dancers compete in Fargo
The Northern Lights Dance Academy of Frazee competed April 21-22 at the Midwest Starz Talent Competition at the Fargo Civic Center.
Frazee boys golf team places 4th in first 2 meets
The Frazee Hornet boys golf team traveled to Hawley for a Heart O’Lakes conference meet Monday, April 23 and left with fourth place.
Wrestlers get year-end awards
The Frazee High School wrestling team held its end of the year banquet Monday.
Statistical awards in junior varsity went to:
• Most Takedowns: Blaine Beaty - 29.
• Most Reversals: Calvin Streeper - 19.
• Most Escapes: Josh Wurst - 13.
• Most Near Falls: Blaine Beaty - 19.
• Most Pins: Calvin Streeper - 15.
Statistical awards in varsity went to:
• Most Takedowns: Bruce Lemon - 70.
• Most Reversals: Hunter Sorenson - 25.
• Most Escapes: Erik Moltzan - 39.
• Most Near Falls: Rij Koehnen - 34.
• Most Pins: Rick Brandt & Tyler Ziegler - 17.
30 Match Winners were:
• Rick Brandt : 39-9.
• Rij Koehnen: 38-4.
• Bruce Lemon: 39-7.
• Tyler Ziegler: 30-12.
Individual GPA Scholar Award Winners (3.0 or better) were: Byron Byer, Austin Skillings, Grant Jepson, Bruce Lemon, Tyler Ziegler, Cody Piper, Brett Gildersleeve, Nate Starry, Kody Van Den Eykel, Calvin Streeper, Charlton Wake, Lane Totland, Christian Zweerink, Josh Wurst, Matt Hanebuth and Garrett Malstrom.
The team earned an Academic Silver Award with a 3.21 grade point average.
The Bob Kertscher Memorial Award went to Cody Piper.
Team Awards for the JV included:
• Most Outstanding: Nate Starry.
• Most Dedicated: Charlton Wake.
• Most Improved: RJ MacKay.
• Most Valuable: Calvin Streeper and Kody Van Den Eykel.
Team Awards in varsity were:
• Most Outstanding: Rij Koehnen.
• Most Dedicated: Bruce Lemon.
• Most Improved: Evan Wendt.
• Most Valuable: Rick Brandt.
• Rookie of the Year: Byron Byer.
Senior plaques went to:
• Rick Brandt: 105-38.
• Jake Galbrecht: 33-24.
• Cody Piper: 60-36.
• Rij Koehnen: 160-48.

Eddy Streeper dominates Canadian Open Championship
Musher “Fast” Eddy Streeper of Osage, formerly of Fort Nelson, dominated the 50th anniversary running of the Canadian Open Championships in Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Canada March 9-10.

Suzanne “Sue” Renee Royer, 49, Frazee, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Sanford Health in Fargo, N.D.
Funeral: 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee. Lunch will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 5 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service to take place at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Streeper wins 5 of 5, sets track record
Fast Eddy Streeper of Osage went to Manitoba and dominated all five races he entered with his speedy sled dogs, winning all five races and setting one track record.
Janu signs with Jimmie basketball
Jamestown College head men’s basketball coach Matt Murken announced Dan Janu of Frazee has signed a letter of intent to enroll at Jamestown College next year and play basketball for the Jimmies.
