Gus Ziegler tells of good times as missionary in Africa

Written by John Dermody

August “Gus” Ziegler hasn’t been in Senegal, a country on the west coast of Africa, for many years. But his comments and a video presentation to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s Men’s Club Sunday evening brought memories flowing freely.

A special panel of five judges released a statewide redistricting plan for Minnesota house and senate districts Tuesday, Feb. 21, which could make for some interesting political races in this area when voters go to the polls Nov. 6. However, many districts are largely unchanged.

Three scholarships commemorate the life of Logan Hoehne, including one that will be awarded to Frazee High School students.

The funds for the scholarship come from the late 19-year-old Evergreen resident’s college savings, and his parents, Tawnia and Steve Hoehne, are adamant that donations are not being sought.
