4 to vie for Miss Frazee, 5 for Miss Teen crowns

Photo by Barbie Porter | Four girls will vie for the chance at winning the Miss Frazee 2010 crown and five for the Miss Teen crown at the pageants Saturday, July 24.
The contests get under way at 7 p.m. in the Frazee High School Gymnasium.
Originally, there were five going for the Miss Frazee crown, but Wednesday morning Kailey Cieluch withdrew from the competition.
Tiffany Schulstad -Peterson,l Miss Frazee 2009, will crown her successor, and Elizabeth Anderson, Miss Frazee's Outstanding Teen 2009, will do the honors in the teen pageant.
Here is some information on the Miss Frazee contestants.
Nicole Wallace
Nicole Wallace, daughter of Marty & Jeannie, will perform a dance to "In the Mood." Her platform is "The Dirt of Farming."
Nicole was active in FFA while attending FHS, holding the offices of president and treasurer. She was a Frazee Fly Girl, cheerleading captain and member of FACT, MATCH, NHS and honor band, while participating in various church activities.
She has an associate of science engineering degree from Itasca Community College and plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in agriculture engineering.
Sara Jacobson
Sara Jacobson, daughter of Marty & TyAnne, will do a sign language interpretation to the song "Imagine". "Here's Your Sign; The Language with NO Boundaries" is Sara's platform.
Sara was active in many organizations at FHS, including Student Council, MATCH, FLA, Wannegan and varsity volleyball. Her volunteering covered various groups including FHS tutor, YWCA day care provider, and "Stop the Flood" sandbagger.
Currently attending Minnesota State University Moorhead working toward a bachelor's degree in humanities, Sara's ambition is to achieve degrees in early childhood education and speech, language and hearing sciences.
Emily Kallis
Emily Kallis, daughter of Kathy and Scott, will perform a jazz dance to "369." Her platform is "Fit for Life: Making Healthy a Habit."
Active during her FHS years in MATCH, FSADMM, NHS and FCA, Emily held an office in Student Council and helped organized the 5,832 meals packaged for "Feed My Starving Children."
Emily's career goals of writing a health and fitness column and to be an arena host for an NBA team has lead her to enroll at University of St. Thomas toward bachelor's degrees in communication, journalism and health promotion.
Kari Stenger
Kari Stenger, daughter of Nancy and Tony, will perform a monologue. Her platform is "You Can Make a Difference in the Fight Against Cancer."
Kari's years at FHS included Student Council, MATCH, prom committee, tutoring, Wannegan editor and volleyball. She was a leader with the "Tyler Shipman Cancer Benefit" at FHS.
Currently attending Minnesota State University Moorhead seeking a bachelor's of science degree in finance, Kari plans to continue toward a master's degree in business/ finance and accounting.
Here is some information on the Miss Teen contestants.
Hailey Jutz
Hailey Jutz, daughter of Chad and Shantel, will perform a lyrical dance to "Hallelujah." Her platform is "Locks of Love: I Donated. Will You?"
Hailey has continued to receive "A's" for all her classes while participating and lettering in band and dance. She earned a spot on the Varsity Dance Team in 7th grade and danced at the Minnesota State High School League State Tournament in 8th grade.
Hailey aspires to become a special education teacher.
Maggie Wothe
Maggie Wothe, daughter of Jay & Tammy, will perform a vocal/guitar number to "Free to Be Me." Her platform is "Special Olympics - Fulfilling Dreams."
Maggie will be a member of the 2010-2011 Frazee Fly Girls Varsity Jazz and High Kick team. She has sung the National Anthem at many events, and volunteers as a coach with the local Special Olympics.
Enrolled for two online classes in the coming school year, Maggie wishes to obtain a college degree in radiology.
Ashley Anderson
Ashley Anderson, daughter of Cindy, will perform a piano solo to "Minuet in G." Her platform is "Youth Empowerment - Planting the Seeds of Respect."
Ashley is a Spelling Bee champion, piano student, Just for Kix member and participates in band, volleyball and softball.
She has obtained her certified nursing assistant license and plans to attend college to pursue a master's degree in nursing.
Kerria Robinson
Kerria Robinson, daughter of Anna Robinson and Donald Pope, will perform a clarinet solo to "Phantom of the Opera." Her platform is "Helping Food Shelves Feed Those in Need."
Kerria was Student of the Month March 2009, has performed in Talent Showcase II & III and performed with the Dallas Brass Band. She is a member of golf and band and has been selected for the new year of Knowledge Bowl at FHS.
Kerria plans to obtain a degree in art so she may be an art teacher.
Ellie Bachmann
Ellie Bachmann, daughter of Brad & Sarah, will perform a lyrical dance to "Concrete Angel." Her platform is "Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention."
Ellie has been a class representative and member of the Varsity Frazee Fly Girls. She has set the FHS track record for the 800-meter run and attended the state track meet. Ellie has given many piano recitals.
She has a goal to earn a master's degree in dental care and to become a dentist.
