In the past the graduation ceremony was usually held on Sundays, but this year the 107th annual Frazee High School commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, May 19 at 1:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. 
 The program includes musical selections by the high school band, choir members and there will be a presentation of colors by veterans of the VFW Post 7702. Frazee High School Principal Rob Nudell will recognize honor students and present the Class of 2012. School board members and Superintendent  Charles Cheney will present diplomas to the 49 graduating seniors.

Ladies golf spring meeting set May 23


 The Frazee Ladies Golf Association spring meeting is set for Wednesday, May 23 starting with 9:30 a.m. with golf – choose partners. Lunch will follow at noon with a meeting at 1 p.m.
 Lunch will be $7, association dues are $20 and non-golfers social dues are $5. Bring a friend and win some door prizes. Info: Jody, 847-5312.

Men’s golf league starts May 31

he Frazee Golf Course announced the first day of Men’s League play will be Thursday, May 31. The fee to join is $20 which covers handicap figuring and entry in the Men’s Club Tournament Sept. 9.
 There are no teams; each member competes for points on a weekly basis and prizes are awarded at the end of the year for various achievements. The Wolf Lake Chapter of the Minnesota Finnish American Historical Society will be hosting its 26th annual pancake breakfast Memorial Day, Monday, May 28 from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Wolf Lake Lions Hall.
 The menu will include pancakes, ham and homemade fruit syrups. A freewill donation will help fund scholarships to Salolampi, the Finnish language camp at Concordia Language Villages. Everyone is welcome.

Virginia “Virgie” Anderson Berg

 Virgie Berg, 82, La Junta, Colo., (born in Frazee) passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.
 A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012:
 • Graveside Committal at Frazee's Lakeside Cemetery at 2 p.m.
 • Memorial Service at the United Methodist Church of Perham at 3 p.m., 223 4th Av SE, Perham, MN.
 • Reception at the church following the memorial service.

Students at Frazee High School received scholarships, academic awards, college credit recognition, art awards, military acknowledgment and other awards during  Awards Night Monday, May 7. The scholarships added up to over $72,000.
