Mike Johnson benefit slated Nov. 8

Over a year ago Mike Johnson of Frazee received treatment of chemotherapy and radiation for lung cancer after a tumor was removed. He and his wife Lucy were told he was cancer free according to a CAT scan last January.
“But then at another CAT scan in August we were told the cancer had somehow spread,” stated Lucy.
Devastated, the couple had to tell their seven grown children and nine grandchildren along with other family and friends the bad news.
The couple was told the odds were better if they did the chemo and radiation again so they started right away making the long drive to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo.
“But lately his blood count has been down so he is not able to take the treatment,” Lucy explained. “He is just really tired.”
Lucy is so thankful for her church family particularly Deb Gray who has helped her so much, especially with the benefit. “Deb and everybody is so nice at church. Since day one we have been treated like family,” she added.
“I believe in prayer and we rely on God as He is the ultimate healer,” she stated. “We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and all they have done for us.”
Family and friends of Mike Johnson invite the community to come and support Mike and Lucy at a benefit Friday, Nov. 8 from 3-7 p.m. at the Harvest Fellowship Church featuring a spaghetti feed and raffle.
The tickets are $10 for adults, which includes the meal and a chance at the random drawings throughout the evening. Homemade quilts, an afghan, certificates and other prizes will be given away. Children’s tickets are $5 but do not include the raffle ticket. To be included in the raffle, parents can purchase an adult ticket for children.
Come to the spaghetti feed and support Mike and bring a friend. Everyone is welcome.
