Memorial Day local events this Monday

There are three local events for Memorial Day Monday, May 28, to honor men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Beginning at 7 a.m., VFW Post 7702 offers a pancake and sausage breakfast for veterans, spouses, widows and parade participants at the VFW on Main Avenue, Frazee.
In Vergas, the Memorial Day service begins at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street by Goodman’s SuperMarket. Following will be a ceremony at Vergas Village Cemetery with guest speaker Caleb Monson, Harvest Fellowship youth pastor.
At 11 a.m., Memorial Day ceremonies begin in downtown Frazee with VFW members leading a parade along with a Frazee High School band performance down Main Avenue. The ceremony will continue lakeside at Town Lake at 11:30 a.m. with guest speaker Caleb Monson, Harvest Fellowship youth pastor.
In Wolf Lake the Finnish-American Historical Society will hold a freewill pancake breakfast  for the public from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Wolf Lake Lions Hall. Aside from fluffy flapjacks there will be homemade fruit syrups and ham. Funds raised at the event will go to scholarships for youth attending a Finnish language camp at Concordia Language Villages. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Memorial Day service in Wolf Lake will take place at 11 a.m. inside the Lions Hall with guest speaker Archie Henderson, retired Air Force serviceman.
Events are organized by VFW Post 7702, Frazee, & VFW Post 8165, Wolf Lake.
