Frazee just may be a paradise for athletes come July 26-28. During the city’s annual Turkey Days festival there are plenty of opportunities to test ones physical prowess or just enjoy a sport as a spectator.

Vergas Loons honor 1988 state entry at fan appreciation day


The 1988 Vergas Loons were recognized at Fan Appreciation Day for their 25th anniversary of heading to state competition.  The Vergas Loons capped a big weekend with Fan Appreciation Day Sunday and along the way put three wins into the scorebook.

 Sunday, the Vergas nine defeated Frazee 3-0 and 10-7 after rallying Friday night to topple Detroit Lakes 11-8.

Hanson earns No. 29-ranking in nation freshman year, team places 2nd in nation


Frazee High School graduate Beau Hanson holds the Division 1 National Runner-up golf trophy that he and his team, the Odessa College Wranglers, earned this past season.

 When 2010 Minnesota Class A State Golf Champion Beau Hanson was given a scholarship to play for one of the top-ranked collegiate golf programs in the country, he knew there would be a learning curve.
