FHS robotics team seals robot, prepares for Duluth competition


Frazee robotics team members (from left) Brock Riewer, Jacob Pace and David Glander pose in front of the spaceship and secondary robot the team made to practice for the upcoming Duluth competition, which 37 students will attend.
The Frazee High School robotics team has sealed its robot and is ready for the big competition in Duluth March 1-4.
 
This year’s competition involves a spaceship and is called Steam Works.

One Act takes fourth at sub-sections

Frazee High School’s one act play  went to sub-section competition in Park Rapids this past weekend and returned with a fourth place for a  performance of “10 Reasons You Should Have Stayed Home Sick Today” by E. M. Bell.

Old band uniforms being made into keepsake pillows


The recently-replaced band uniforms are being used to create commemorative pillows that will be sold to help fund future band activities.
The Frazee High School band is making use of its old uniforms by turning them into keepsake pillows.

The Frazee Hornet wrestling team traveled to Pelican Rapids Saturday, Jan. 28 to compete in the annual Heart O’ Lakes Conference tournament and placed second.

Area schools get help from DL Breakfast Rotary


Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary member Kathy Dretsch (left) presented a check to Frazee High School Band Director Brian Selander along with Rotary President Steve Carlson.
The Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary recently donated proceeds from its wine pairing event to  the performing arts programs in both the Detroit Lakes and Frazee-Vergas school districts.

School tech coach brings computer programming skills to students


Students in Frazee Elementary and Frazee High School learned about computer programming recently.

Jim Jacobson, the district’s technology coordinator, helped bring a computer coding program to both schools to give students insight on a possible career path.
Frazee students became computer programmers recently as they participated in the Hour of Code.
