Jody Marquardt loaded a cannon with gunpowder during the parade as others warned the crowd to cover their ears. When the Third Minnesota Light Artillery of Vergas and Lake Country Mountaineers Black Powder Club of Perham lit the fuse and the cannon fired, it shook Main Street.
I have not attended a parade for several years. During the festivals, I work all Friday and Saturday and usually have Sunday off to recuperate.

There is a guy I know and he is a molder of men and women, quick with the wit and even quicker to reach out a hand. If all of his accomplishments in life and at work were put into a pile they would reach up to heaven – where he is now.
