Girls swim team may be fall sport option for Frazee

Frazee girls may have a new sport option in the fall – swimming and diving. 

 If the Perham and New York Mills School Boards agree to share the sport with Frazee, Hornet girls will be invited to participate through a sport cooperative.

Test nets in Wolf Lake and Shell Lake will check extent of fish loss


Small sunfish and a few rough fish dotted the shorelines along Shell Lake after ice-out. A few northern pike and bullheads were also spotted in the floating wild rice rafts.

 Rumors that there have been cases of extensive winterkill on area lakes appear to be exaggerations.

Stenger earns leadership award, attributes school mentors for helping develop skills


Minnesota State University Moorhead bestowed the Female Student Leader of the Year Award to Kari Stenger (right). Stenger, a 2010 Frazee High School graduate, was nominated by Ashley Overman (left).

 High school can be a person’s glory days, or they can create new ones. For Kari Stenger, a 2010 Frazee High School (FHS) graduate, her formative years led her to receive a major leadership award.

Vergas approves new Internet provider

 The cities of Frazee and Vergas may both have a second Internet provider by June.

 The Vergas City Council approved a contract with Wi-Fly Wireless at its monthly council meeting Monday, May 6.
