Residents asked to envision future of Frazee


The City of Frazee is looking for input from residents on what people feel is needed to enhance residental life and business opportunities in the city. City leaders are also interested in learning what residents dislike about the city. Photo illustration by Barbie Porter

 For most, there is little opportunity to design one’s hometown. That rare moment has arrived for Frazee residents and those living in the surrounding area.

Citizenship: A family’s time to celebrate for the Miller family

Diagonal parking on Main, closing S. River Dr. & more options discussed at Frazee’s Heartland Trail meeting


This map, provided by Apex Engineering in Detroit Lakes, shows the different route proposals for bringing the Heartland Trail through the city of Frazee.

 The Heartland Trail will connect Frazee and Detroit Lakes with a paved path; from there the options for bringing the trail through the city are diverse.

Local women’s quartet determined to get back together more often


One of the acts on a barbershop program last week during Perham's Turtle Fest was "Something Special," a female quartet whose members have been singing together for almost 30 years. The group is comprised of tenor Esther Bromander, left, along with lead singer Judy Maxwell, bass Joan Ketter and baritone Norma Jean Grotnes. Maxwell and Ketter live in Frazee, Bromander and Grotnes are residents of the Detroit Lakes area.

 Music not only can serve to connect generations, it can keep individuals within the same era linked for decades.

Fr. Xavier Ilango honored for 25 years in the priesthood


Two bishops, many priests, numerous parishioners and a host of visitors were on hand to help Fr. Xavier Ilango commemorate his 25 years in the priesthood.
