There is a new sign at the corner of Willow and South Washington Avenue in Detroit Lakes. It marks the location of Shorty's Corner Cafe, now owned by Lee Schermerhorn and her parents, Dennis and Lori. It opened last month.
How many times have signs proclaimed “Acme Family Auto,” or “Family Health Clinic,” maybe even “Percy’s Family Pancake Palace”?

Keith Kinnen left Frazee shortly after graduating in 2002 and after a few return visits concluded people in his hometown did not have much pride in their community.
