‘It sounds so pretty;’ new piano arrives at Vergas Event Center


Kim and Marvin Kratzke donated a digital Yamaha piano to the Vergas Event Center.
A new piano was brought into the Vergas Event Center Thursday, Feb. 11 and the pianists on hand raved about the sound.

Area mobile food shelf seeks leads for a home base, trailer


The first public meeting for a mobile food bank that would serve Frazee, Vergas and Wolf Lake was held Wednesday, Feb. 3 and drew about 15 people, not including presenters.
Residents of Vergas, Frazee and Wolf Lake hope to have a mobile food shelf running by spring, but logistics need to be worked out first, including finding a space to store dry food.

Family members sought, apply at city hall


Frazee Fire Chief Regi Ueke (left) has been a firefighter 24 years while Travis Gray has been fighting fires for two years. The two stand next to the gear that is fitted to each firefighter. New gear will be ordered for the new recruits once they are chosen.
A family known for having each other’s backs, sharing plenty of laughs and being well-respected in the community is looking for more brothers and sisters.
