Frazee grad becomes manager of remote Alaskan fishery

Jason Myhrer is the manager of a salmon hatchery in Alaska. In his off-time he fishes in pristine, remote areas. In the photo he holds a yellow eye rockfish.
When Jason Myhrer moved from Frazee to Alaska he joined the fishing industry. After several years of dedication, he was named manager of the Main Bay Hatchery.

City-wide cleanup cost increases

The city of Frazee hauled away 27,000 pounds of debris, along with 139 tires, 36 appliances, 93 cubics yards of loose garbage and 168 TVs during the city-wide clean up week held this spring.

Grab the tongs, win big and eat well at Frazee rib fest Saturday


The Frazee-Vergas VFW is hosting its first annual Rib Fest Saturday, June 20 on Main Avenue in Frazee. The winner of the rib cook-off takes home all entry fees. Registration can be submitted to the VFW, which is located at 120 West Main Avenue, or by calling Larry Quade 841-5881.
Grab a set of tongs, form a team or take to the task of grilling up ribs for the VFW sponsored rib fest event Saturday, June 20 in Frazee.

Blueprints, cost estimates to be done for FHS workout facility

The Frazee-Vergas School Board agreed to pay $2,000 to Lightowler Johnson and Associates for an architectural rendering and construction estimates for an exercise complex that would double as a wrestling practice facility.

Grant received for independent review of wind study

 
A $10,000 grant to conduct an independent cost-benefit review on whether a wind and solar power project would create revenue and pay for itself was secured by the city of Frazee and Becker County.
